Afternoon Everyone,
Welcome to the weekly #writephoto prompt!
This week’s prompt is a post with a difference – our first guest photo!
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a lake surrounded by trees and a mountain range in the distance. On the lake edge, you can see a lonesome log floating and a grassy flowered edge.
A great big thank you to Sadje over at Keep it Alive – https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/ for agreeing to be the featured photo this month. What a beautiful photo to get us started too.
The regulars already know this bit, but for those that don’t:
- Each Thursday at Noon GMT I will post the #writephoto prompt
- Use the image and prompt as inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose, as long as it is fairly family-friendly.
- Please have your entries linked back to the original prompt post by the following Tuesday at Noon GMT.
- Link back to this post with a pingback (Hugh has an excellent tutorial here) and/or leave a link in the comments below, to be included in the round-up.
- Please click their links to visit the blogs of other contributors and take time to read and comment on their work.
- Use the #writephoto hashtag in your title so your posts can be found.
- There is no word limit and no style requirements, except that your post must take inspiration from the image and/or the prompt word given in the title of this post.
- Feel free to use #writephoto logo or include the prompt photo in your post if you wish, or you may replace it with one of your own to illustrate your work.
- By participating in the #writephoto challenge, please be aware that your post may be featured as a reblog on this blog and I will link to your post for the round-up each week.
If you need some more inspiration or fancy a bit of light reading, click here for last weeks round-up.
I can’t wait to read your creations.
Take Care.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate your using my photo for today’s prompt.
It’s a brilliant photo Sadje. I hope we get some fabulous responses. KL ❤
I hope so too.
it’s a beautiful photo.
Thanks Ruth.
Lake of Fire
Legends should be left unproven. Irving searches for fire rubies and finds more than he bargains for.

Great photo from Sadje! For some odd reason this post doesn’t show up in my Reader. I hope everyone finds it! When a post of mine doesn’t show up in the Reader, I will “un-publish” it and then re-publish it again right away. This usually fixes the issue. Anyway, here is my story for the week: https://trentsworld.blog/2021/04/29/lake-voices-writephoto/
Great Guest Photo from Sadje! here’s my response – hope some of you like it – drop us a line if you do https://inkdrops.blog/2021/04/29/lakeside/

Thank you for your kind comment (and wonderful entry). Sue put so much love and effort into #writephoto, I didn’t participate every week but I was there from the start of its journey so it just felt right to continue that in her honour. KL ❤
We are pleased, too. And very glad it will continue in Sue’s honour…

Hi KL Caley,
Thank you for carrying on the #writephoto challenge started by Sue.
I’ve been a regular participant of #writephoto challenge for some years now and this
is the first time I am writing here. It’s been a long time since I wrote a prose piece, but today I’ve come up with a story for picture provided.
Here’s the piece :-

Thank you Sadje for the photo. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.
