Jessica resisted the urge to stamp her foot. Her brother had received another train set, an early birthday present from Grandma who lived down South. He eyed her suspiciously.
“Don’t even bother Jessica…. It’s not for girls!!”
Seemed like nothing was for girls, none of the good stuff anyway. Was his Cowboy dolls really that different from her Barbie dolls? Or train toys that much different from her pram toys? His always seemed to be so much more fun.

She stomped upstairs and planted herself down heavily on the step. As she did the linen closet behind her creaked open. Jessica glanced around, she wasn’t allowed in there, but the corner of a box that poked out from underneath the towels had caught her eye. She checked no one was watching, and slid out the box, tucking it under her arm she rushed to her room to admire her treasure.
Her brother didn’t have one of these, surely that meant it wasn’t just for boys. Jessica grinned as she unpacked the dinosaur and began using it to attack her Barbies.
