#Writephoto Round-Up – Toybox

Last year my darling OH convinced me to go on a fishing holiday with himself and his fisher friend. I’m not exactly the most outdoorsy person and fishing is probably one of the last things I would like to do with precious time off work but he lured me in with the description of a lodge by the lake. In fact, the place he was booking only had the one lodge, so complete peace and quiet was a lure (and for him uninterrupted use of the lake).

We arrived, unpacked the car and looked around the lodge that was to be our home for the week. It was actually very beautiful and I was pretty impressed OH had done so well. A bonus was this beautiful big chest that greeted us with teddies, blankets, hot water bottles and more. What could be cosier?

A slight fact I may have missed is that at the time of the fishing holiday we also had a hyper tot roaming around who we would be taking with us. 30 minutes after arriving hubby was doing a tour of the lake (eyeing up the best fishing pegs) with his tiny shadow by his side tottling along. He stopped to talk with his friend for a second and of course, there was a splosh sound behind him. Tiny tot had fallen into the reeds. Every parent’s nightmare. Thankfully the water was shallow and my OH quickly plucked him out again.

Arriving back at the house, the blankets, hot water bottle and teddy suddenly became the perfect welcome package.

I’ve had so many wonderful responses and enjoyed each and every one. I have tried to reblog a few since the post went out so hopefully, you will have seen some of them trickling through, but here is the list below (if I have missed anyone, please let me know). It makes for fantastic reading.

  1. Sounds like the eyes in the back of OH’s head blinked for a second! … typical toddler! Good job for blankets and hot water bottles ( which I mistook for lollypop holders 😜).
