#Writephoto Round-Up – NEWBORNS

Morning All,

This week’s prompt photo had all the fun of the farm. I am so pleased to have had so many creative responses from you all. Do have a read through them, they are fabulous.

It was actually taken during the first lockdown in 2020. Whilst all the supermarkets’ supplies were going crazy with people panic buying, I visited a local farmshop and had a little nosy around, whilst waiting to go inside. At the time, I was just happy to be outside, but I came across these little ladies who were noisily telling the world of their condition and this little fella wobbly legged wandering between them. It was the earth’s gentle way of giving me a reminder that life will continue. It might be difficult at times (birth being a prime example) but mother nature will find a way. I left the farm somewhat uplifted and humbled (and with a prized bag of flour).

My entry:

“The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. you relinquish that position to your children.”

Jessica Lange

She sighed and stood up. Shushing her daughter gently. All her friends were dozing, awaiting the birth that would change them without them even realising.

“Let’s go mama”.

“Go where?” she asked whispering so as not to wake the others.

“Anywhere, I want to explore the world.” her daughter bleated excitedly.

“Ssshhh, shhhhh darling. You’ll wake the others.”

“What’s wrong with that, they can explore with us.”

She laughed, a deep chuckle.

“You have no idea my darling, you’ll learn one day, but these ladies are about to go on the biggest adventure of their lives.”

“Are they?” She looked around, unconvinced.

“Why don’t you come snuggle up with mama and I’ll tell you the story.”

“Okay, can I have some milk too?”

“Yes dear, of course. Snuggle up little one.”

There once was a strong, independent, ewe…

With Sue’s permission, I took up the #writephoto reins and asked you all to join in once again on this creative challenge. I’ve had so many wonderful responses and enjoyed each and every one. I have tried to reblog a few since the post went out so hopefully, you will have seen some of them trickling through, but here is the list below (if I have missed anyone, please let me know). It makes for fantastic reading.
